Project Description
An exploration of the chaotic and beautiful system dubbed by the internet as “The Chain Fountain.” With only one published paper on its workings, the chain fountain is in need of experimental research to observe and describe its many intricacies. To study it, we used a high speed camera and high powered LED lights to capture footage of ball chains of various sizes and materials. We put our system in many different orientations, some of which we’ve yet to see anywhere else on the internet, which led us to record data and never before seen behavior. The project will continue in the fall of 2017.
